We starting making these piano footrest when one of our children started piano lessons at a very young age.  The piano foot rest was required by the piano teacher so that my daughter's feet had a place to rest and not dangle.  I saw a picture of the piano footstool she recommended, and I said, "Hey - I can make that!"  Eleven years later, we are still making the same piano footrest.
